Nigel – Age 46 – Previously In Retail.
Current Occupation: Owns His Own Electrician Business
Reason for Changing Career: After working in retail for 30 years, at the age of 46 Nigel was unexpectedly made redundant from his job.Current Status: Although this initially came as a huge blow to him, he became determined to turn his situation into an opportunity, he decided to take his redundancy money and use it to re-train as an electrician. Since finishing his training he now runs a successful electrical business.

Will – Age 23 – Previously A Professional Rugby Player.
Current Occupation: Rugby Player & Electrician
Reason for Changing Career: In 2007 at the age of 23 he faced the grim possibility of his rugby career coming to a premature end when he fractured his eye socket during a match.Current Status: Fortunately half way through his training programme with New Career Skills, having fully recovered from his injury Will was able to return to playing rugby. Despite this he was determined to finish what he had started and so he continued with his electrical training.

Steve – Age 31 – Previously An IT Worker.
Current Occupation: Qualified Electrician
Reason for Changing Career: He was made redundant last Christmas. He decided starting a new career as an electrician was the way forward, not having to sit in from of a screen all day appealed to him.Current Status: He qualified just six months after starting the course, and is working for an electrical company gaining experience before setting up his own firm in the near future.
